Luxury Wedding At Avalon Hotel In Palm Springs, California

Avalon Hotel Palm Springs Wedding

One of my all-time favorite Palm Springs wedding venues is the Avalon Hotel, easily right up there with the Ace Hotel, Parker, Moorten Botanical Garden, and the other iconic spots. That’s why I was stoked when Wes and Lauren told me they were flying in from Texas with 100+ guests for their destination wedding at the Avalon. Personally, I couldn’t get 4 people to come to an 80s party at my house. Not even with free beer and Doritos. So yeah, these are awesome people.

Oh, and did I mention they had an open bar? Honestly, nothing says “I am a spectacular human being” more than open bar. Below are some wedding photos from that day, plus helpful info if you’re planning a Palm Springs elopement or wedding at the Avalon.

Avalon Hotel Wedding Reviews

I’ve been photographing weddings in Palm Springs and Temecula for over a decade. In that time, I’ve been to some really great wedding venues. The Avalon fits right into that category. Here’s why. The Regency Courtyard at the Avalon Hotel is a serene setting with olive tree topiaries and citrus blooms, and it’s the ceremony site most brides and grooms choose. This outdoor space has a view of the San Jacinto mountains, plus a 35-square-foot cabana on a raised platform. The best part? This space fits smaller gatherings well: seating up to 90 guests, or 170 in a theater-style arrangement.

The ceremony area is rad. So are the rooms, the iconic yellow front doors, and the overall vibe of the place. Don’t just take my word for it, though. Here’s where you can read more from real brides and grooms who got married here:

Thinking About Ace Hotel Instead? Here’s The Real Deal

Since I already name-dropped Ace Hotel up top as one of the venues I love, let’s actually talk about it. A lot of couples end up deciding between the Avalon and the Ace before they book anything.

The Ace has a completely different personality than the Avalon. Where the Avalon leans boutique and polished, the Ace leans bohemian and loose. Think two pools, garden patios, a vintage record player in every room. That golden late-afternoon light makes every photo look like it belongs in a magazine. Most ceremonies and receptions happen in a space called the Commune, an open-air spot with movable glass walls that open right up to a private pool. The space doesn’t need much decor to look good. That’s a gift if you’re trying to keep your budget sane. Once your reception wraps at 10pm, most of the party just walks next door to the Amigo Room, the hotel’s own bar. The night doesn’t have to end when the venue does.

What Does A Wedding At Ace Hotel Actually Cost?

Packages start around $10,000. Most couples I’ve seen end up spending closer to $36,000 once catering and bar get added in. Bar service alone runs about $64 a person, so factor that into your headcount math early. The Ace can hold up to 175 guests for a ceremony or reception. Peak season runs March through May and again in October, so those dates book up fast. One thing worth knowing: most hotel-venue weddings require a minimum room block. The Ace is no exception, so budget a handful of rooms into your cost.
